The Football Association (FA) has suspended Chelsea forward Pedro Neto for one match and fined him £70,000 (€81,000) for unsportsmanlike conduct in the 28th round of the English Premier League against Arsenal (1:2).
"Pedro Neto committed improper conduct after being sent off in the Premier League match between Chelsea and Arsenal on Sunday 1 March.
It is alleged that the player failed to leave the field of play in a timely manner after being dismissed in the 70th minute and/or used abusive and/or insulting language towards a match official(s).
Pedro Neto later admitted his mistake. An independent Regulatory Commission imposed these sanctions following a hearing and written reasons for its decisions will be published in due course," the FA said in a social media post.
Pedro Neto will miss the game against Newcastle on Saturday, March 14.
