"The opponent deserved to pass the stage."
Idman.biz reports that this was stated by Pavol Šafranko, a football player of the "Sabah" team, in an interview with Telegraf after the return match of the III qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League, in which they lost 0:2 to the Bulgarian representative "Levski" at home.
The 28-year-old striker said that the opposing team showed a superior game: "They made the most of the opportunities created. We couldn't show the game we wanted in some episodes. As a result, we must accept this reality and work harder in the next matches."
The Slovak forward added that despite his individual successes, it was not possible to advance to the play-off stage as a team: "I scored 4 goals in the previous two qualifying rounds, but it was not enough and we could not pass the stage. As a club, we wanted to take a bigger step and achieve better results, but it didn't work out. Of course, we are a little disappointed. But this is football and this is life."
