Legendary figure of English football, Paul Scholes, has made a sensational statement regarding Arsenal's young star, Max Dowman. He emphasized that the 16-year-old footballer deserves to go to the 2026 World Cup in the national team squad with the game he demonstrated.
Idman.Biz reports that Scholes, speaking on "The Good, The Bad & The Football" podcast, called Dowman "incredible."
He stated that England should take the same step as the Spanish national team did by giving Lamin Yamal a chance:
"How great is Max Dowman! It's incredible. Do you think he should be in the England squad for the World Cup? Look at Spain and Lamin Yamal... Include him in the squad! We don't have a player like Dowman. I think Thomas Tuchel is the coach who can take him."
Scholes gave a harsher answer to the question of who the young player should be taken instead of:
"It doesn't matter who it is. He's great. Spain would do it and they are successful. I would always take him to the team. There is no second player in England with his ability."
It should be noted that Max Dowman made history last week by scoring against Everton as the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history, and on Tuesday as the youngest footballer to wear a uniform in the Champions League quarter-finals.
