Spanish club "Oviedo" has dismissed its 48-year-old Serbian head coach, Velko Paunović.
Idman.Biz reports that his assistants have also left the team along with the specialist.
The club's statement expressed gratitude to Velko Paunović and his coaching staff: "Under his leadership, the team qualified for La Liga - a historic achievement that will remain in the memory of the fans. We wish him success in his future career."
The team's new head coach is 46-year-old Spaniard Luis Carrion. Carrion left his last job at Las Palmas a year ago (October 8, 2024).
It should be noted that Paunović was appointed head coach of Oviedo in March of this year. Under his leadership, the team returned to La Liga after 24 years from Segunda. However, in the current season, Oviedo has suffered 6 defeats in 8 rounds, scoring only 6 points and is in 17th place in the La Liga standings.
