The temporary appointment of Sanan Gurbanov as head coach of "Neftchi" has caused various reactions in the football community.
Idman.Biz learned the views of Oqtay Abdullayev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Football Veterans Union (AFVI), on how correct this decision is - even if temporary.
"I support this appointment and would like it not to be limited to 1-2 games, but to last at least until the end of the season. It is very good that the management of "Neftchi" immediately found a young local specialist. I hope they will not look for a legionnaire coach after this. Because no foreigner has achieved success with "Neftchi". Sanan is already ready to work independently. It is just necessary to trust him and give him time," Oqtay Abdullayev emphasized.
He also recalled that Gurban Gurbanov drew a successful path in the early years of "Qarabağ" with the trust of the management:
"I think that Sanan will justify this trust over time."
