The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan conducted an independent monitoring to ensure equality in sports competitions, especially in football matches.
Idman.Biz reports that national legislation, international standards, FIFA and UEFA rules, AFFA's disciplinary decisions and other sources were analyzed, and proposals and recommendations were prepared within the framework of the monitoring.
The research shows that significant steps have been taken to ensure equality in football and prevent discrimination. At the same time, continuous and systematic improvement of work in the field remains relevant.
Based on the results of the monitoring, a Report on "Ensuring Equality Rights and Combating Discrimination in Football" was prepared and submitted to the relevant institutions. The report reflects the current situation and recommendations for the development of the field.
It should be noted that the Report was prepared based on appeals received by the Ombudsman's Office and information published in the media.
