Lille forward Olivier Giroud has become the oldest player to score a goal as a substitute in a UEFA Europa League match. This was reported by the Opta analytical portal, according to Sport24.az.
The 38-year-old forward came on in the 67th minute of Lille's 2-1 Europa League home win over Brann and scored in the 80th minute. His goal brought victory to the French team.
It should be noted that the forward is also the third oldest player to score in Europa League history. Giroud has scored 3 times in 5 matches in all competitions for Lille in the 2025/26 season.
