Lille striker Olivier Giroud has become the oldest player to score in a Europa League play-off match in history. Sport24.az reports that this was announced by the Opta Sport statistics portal.
The French World Cup winner scored in the fourth minute of the second leg of the Europa League play-off against Crvena Zvezda at the age of 39 years and 149 days.
It should be noted that the previous record belonged to Edin Dzeko (38 years and 333 days).
