Galatasaray's head coach Okan Buruk spoke about his rivalry with Portuguese specialist Jose Mourinho. Sport24.az reports. Mourinho coached Fenerbahce last season and lost to Okan Buruk in the championship race.
In August, the Portuguese coach was dismissed from the Turkish club and later appointed head coach of Benfica.
Okan Buruk said that competing with him was difficult: "He started talking a lot after moving to Fenerbahce. We know Mourinho's style. He plays not only on the field, but also off it. He tried many things, but we were superior. I was stronger than Mourinho. We won the title by defeating him. We won twice at their stadium. He will not be here this season. We were looking forward to two more games with him."
Okan Buruk continued his thoughts about Mourinho with harsh words: "Jose is no longer as focused on games as before, he doesn't think about football as before. He hasn't changed his coaching style. He really has a strong charisma and is a great personality, but in football you have to develop every season. Maybe the problem is that he is not developing as a coach."
