Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk spoke about the first leg of the Champions League play-off stage against Juventus.
Idman.Biz reports that the match will take place on February 17.
"Our goal at the beginning of the season was to be in the top eight [overall] and immediately advance to the 1/8 finals. We were unable to achieve this, but reaching the top 24 and having the opportunity to play in the play-offs is a good way to achieve our goal. We will play the first game at home. We know that our opponents have very high-quality players and a good coach. There have been games where they played well but could not win; they have not been lucky lately. We are expecting a very difficult game.
We know the strengths of our opponent. Sometimes a well-coordinated defense at this level brings victory. If we play compactly, attack and defend together, we will have a chance to secure an important victory. We are currently in the best physical and mental shape in Europe. Players are returning to the field after injuries, so we are trying to be a team that starts the game well and finishes it effectively," Buruk said on UEFA's official website.
