Vasif Ismayilov, the executive director of the "Khankendi" club, which won the AFFA Region League and qualified for the Azerbaijan II League, and will also represent our country in the UEFA Region Cup, assessed the team's championship.
In his statement to "Report", he stated that it was a great responsibility.
"The championship is a great feeling. It was a great responsibility due to the weight of the team's name. Becoming a champion with the name Khankendi is completely different. At the beginning of the season, we were 99 percent sure that we would become champions. Our head coach Ibrahim Uzunca has a PRO category. The club management had created a high-level management system. The team conceded only one goal during the season. This comes from discipline and professionalism," V. Ismayilov emphasized.
He said that discussions will be held with the management regarding future plans:
"I believe that we will perform well in the II League next season. We still have time. The team will also represent Azerbaijan in Europe. We have not yet had discussions with the management. The team became champions yesterday, and so to speak, we are enjoying it. We will think about the plans later. We have a well-established team. We will continue our claim by bringing in additional players."
It should be noted that under the leadership of Ibrahim Uzunca, "Khankendi" defeated "Shirvan" 3:0 in the decisive match of the AFFA Region League held yesterday and became the champion.
