"Novruz - 2026" Tournament Held in Guba: UGİM (Sumgait) Became the Winner

On March 25, the "Novruz - 2026" tournament was held in Guba with the sponsorship of "Sheh Su" company and the organization of the Northern Regional Football Federation (NRFF). According to Sport24.az, 9 teams consisting of children born in 2015/15 participated in the competition.

Teams representing Sumgait, Guba, Gusar and Fuzuli competed for the title of winner.

The teams divided into two groups, the teams that took 1st and 2nd places qualified for the decisive stage. In the match for 3rd place, "Zafar" faced "Ergunesh". The match ended with the victory of the latter.

In the match for the title of champion, UGİM (Sumgait) and "Sumgait City" met. The game, which took place in an interesting and tense sports competition, ended with the victory of UGİM.    

At the end of the tournament, an award ceremony was held. The winning teams and those who distinguished themselves in various nominations were presented with cups and medals by Rustam Rahimov, Vice President of the Republican Veterans Union, Fakhraddin Hasanov, President of the SRFF, Sabina Abbaszadeh, Head of "Sheh Su" company, and veteran football player Huseyn Muhammadov. Other participating teams were given souvenirs.

It should be noted that the games were managed by Alik Yunusov, who is currently appointed to Premier League games, and former referee Azad Mutallimov.
