"Juventus" and "Aston Villa" had previously tried to transfer the player, but were scared off by the price set by "Crystal Palace."
Mateta has been playing for Crystal Palace since January 2022. This season, the Frenchman has made 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists. His current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027.
According to Transfermarkt, Mateta's market value is 40 million euros.
