No cash prize for the winner of "Bizon Azerbaijan Cup"

Today, a sponsorship agreement was signed between the Professional Football League and "Avrora Group" for the Azerbaijan Cup. Sport24.az reports that the tournament will now be called "Bizon Azerbaijan Cup". PFL's Media and Marketing Director Sanan Abdullayev answered questions during the event:

- This is a new stage for both the Professional Football League and Azerbaijani football. The professionalism of both parties played an important role in this agreement. Negotiations were held with several organizations in this direction. But the negotiations stopped after a certain stage. We saw a completely professional approach from "Avrora Group". As Ceyhun bey said, his playing football also played a role in this step. We are very happy. After a long time, the tournament will have a sponsor and will be called "Bizon Azerbaijan Cup". This is important for us and for the other party. May it be beneficial for Azerbaijani football. 

- Are there any prospects for finding sponsors for the lower leagues?

- Of course, work is continuing in this direction. We broke the spell by finding a sponsor for the Cup. We also have plans for the First League and the Second League. Our negotiations are ongoing. I hope that we will see the professional approach that we see here in other places as well. 

- Is there a special prize for the winner of the Cup?

- There are plans. Let's not reveal all the secrets. We are thinking of choosing the best goal of the stage. This will be selected by "Bizon". We also have plans for media representatives. Let's not make big promises and turn out to be liars. But there are certain plans. I am sure that Azerbaijani football will see positive results.

- "Bizon" company will allocate the funds. But will the PFL determine how it will be spent?

- There are no plans to allocate a cash prize to the winner. This is a test, an initial stage, for both us and "Bizon". It can be long-term. Everything earned here should be directed to Azerbaijani football. Since it is the first stage, we cannot make big promises.
