"The match against "Sumgayit" was very difficult. We knew they were a strong team. Our game didn't work out at all in the first half." These words were said by "Imishli" football player Nikola Karaklaic in his statement to Sport24.az.
The Serbian midfielder also commented on the incident that occurred in the 90+12th minute:
"Sumgayit" mainly controlled the ball more. Although they didn't create a hundred percent goal opportunity, they looked more dangerous. We played better in the second half, but unfortunately, football is like that, they took advantage of their opportunities, and we missed our chances, including a penalty... That's why the situation turned out like this. Frankly, I didn't see exactly what happened with the tension, but these are common things in football. We all want to win, and sometimes tension becomes an integral part of the sport. I wouldn't blow it out of proportion... This will be neither the first nor the last in football."
Karaklaic shared his expectations from the match against "Karvan-Yevlakh", the next round's opponent of his team:
"The next game is very important for us. After two consecutive defeats in the championship, we must once again show the character and team spirit that we have shown many times during the season."
It should be noted that the "Imishli" - "Karvan-Yevlakh" match will be held on December 15 in Guba and will start at 14:00.
