"Nike" is set to sign a 40 million Euro deal with UEFA to supply match balls for European competitions.
İdman.Biz reports this with reference to the "Financial Times."
According to the source, the American company "Nike" will replace the German company "Adidas" as the supplier of Champions League match balls. The American company's ball was previously used in the tournament from 1998 to 2001, after which the contract was awarded to the German manufacturer.
"Adidas's" current contract to supply match balls for the Champions League, as well as "Decathlon's" contract to supply match balls for the Europa League and Conference League, is valid until the end of the 2026/2027 season. Under the agreement, which runs until the summer of 2031, "Nike" is expected to host three European competitions. The German company has confirmed that it did not participate in negotiations to extend the contract and has decided to focus on other tournaments.
