Nijat Gurbanov, a former member of the Azerbaijan national football team and clubs like "Neftchi" and "Zira", who is currently coaching in the USA, evaluated the MLS debut of our compatriot Nariman Akhundzade. Gurbanov, talking about the prospects of the young striker who made his first appearance for "Columbus Crew", said that he hopes he will be successful in the USA.
Idman.Biz reports that Nijat Gurbanov, who has ended his active football career, spoke about the importance of Nariman's adaptation process to the new environment in his statement to sportal.az.
He noted that despite the young talent getting little playing time in his debut match, this is just the beginning:
"Nariman played his first game in almost two months. It is true that he played little in terms of time, so it is impossible to fully evaluate his game. But I believe that he will get more chances after this. Nariman is in a place where everything depends on him".
Nijat Gurbanov noted that the first games are always difficult. New teammates and a different football atmosphere are the main factors affecting the player. However, he specifically noted that he trusts Akhundzade's potential:
"A new environment, new teammates - these are all factors that affect the game. But I believe that Nariman will make us very happy. I wish him success in his career!".
It should be reminded that Nariman Akhundzade was transferred from "Qarabag" to the US club "Columbus Crew" and went down in history as the first Azerbaijani football player to play in MLS.
