Neymar has announced that he will undergo surgery on his left knee.
According to Idman.Biz, the 33-year-old "Santos" striker finished the season due to injury, but scored five goals in the last four matches of the Brazilian championship, helping the team maintain its place in Serie A.
Neymar played in only 19 of 38 matches and scored eight goals. The striker said that despite his physical problems, he played for the support of the team and fans.
"I came here to help the team in every way I can. These weeks have been difficult for me. I thank everyone who was with me and supported me. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have been able to play in these matches because of my injury and knee problems. Now I need to rest and then have surgery," said Neymar.
