Newcastle's 27-year Champions League record in match against Qarabag

English football club Newcastle United has achieved a remarkable feat in their UEFA Champions League play-off match against Qarabag.

Idman.Biz reports that the English representative is the first team to field seven or more English players in their starting lineup.

This is the first such occurrence in the Champions League play-off stage since Manchester United's performance in the 1/4 finals of the 1997/1998 season. Thus, Newcastle has repeated this historic achievement in their match against Qarabag.
