José María Enríquez Negreira, former vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees of the Spanish Football Federation, has requested a new forensic medical examination from the court to reassess his mental state.
Idman.Biz reports that the defense claims that his cognitive impairments have worsened since the previous examination conducted in 2023, hindering his ability to defend himself in the criminal proceedings.
For information, in 2023, the "Barcelona" leadership was accused of bribery payments with José María Enríquez Negreira, the former vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees of the Spanish Football Federation.
The court considered the payment of several million euros to Negreira between 2001 and 2018 as a crime. In turn, "Barcelona" president Joan Laporta, commenting on the "Negreira case", called it a campaign to discredit the club.
