At the end of 2023, the International Football Federation (FIFA) announced the end of its partnership with Electronic Arts, which produces football simulation games under its auspices.
Idman.Biz reports that EA is producing its own football simulations under the EA Sports FC brand, changing its previous name.
Meanwhile, FIFA has announced a new football simulation in partnership with the online cinema service Netflix. The project will be released in the summer of 2026, just in time for the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has already commented on the announcement, calling it a milestone for football simulations: "This great collaboration between FIFA and Netflix is a milestone in FIFA's commitment to innovation in football games. We aim to reach billions of football fans from all over the world. The game we have reimagined will mark the beginning of a new era of digital football."
The football simulator is being developed by Delphi Interactive studio, based in California. No details have been released yet, although it is known that it will be available on mobile platforms via the Netflix app.
