An interview with Neftçi player Imad Faraj to Sport24.az
- You lost to Turan Tovuz in the 23rd round of the Misli Premier League. What are your thoughts on the game?
- We played well in the first half. I even think we were the better side. We created 2-3 scoring chances, but we couldn't capitalize on them. In the second half, the opponent had only one episode and they turned it into a goal. After that, it was difficult to come back because they retreated to defense with the whole team. That's why we couldn't turn the game around. I hope we will recover in the next game and leave the match with Gabala with three points.
- You couldn't continue the game until the end. Is the injury serious?
- No, it's nothing serious. It was just a cramp. I ran a lot today, so I felt a little cramp in the final minutes of the game. But there is no serious problem.
- You can't win when your other rivals vying for European Cups qualification lose points. What is the reason for this?
- Yes. We knew that today's match was very important. That's why we asked the fans to come to the stadium in large numbers. We wanted to win. As I said, we played very well in the first half. But I think that if we had scored in the first half, the course of the game would have been completely different.
- Your chances of getting into the European Cups are decreasing. What do you think?
- We don't think about that. We want to approach each game separately. I think it's better to think like this: you need to focus on winning every match, not thinking too far ahead. But as I said, we lost points today. However, our rivals – Sumgayit, Araz and Zira – also failed to win. Therefore, this game was very important for us.
