"Neftçi" has started the Premier League without a win for the 3rd consecutive season. Sport24.az reports with reference to the Professional Football League website that the "white-blacks" drew with "Shamakhi" in the first round of the 2025/26 season of the Misli Premier League – 1:1. The Baku club was unable to win the starting match in the 2023/24 season against "Kapaz" away, and against "Turan Tovuz" at home in the last championship – 0:1 and 0:0, respectively.
Not winning in the first game of three consecutive championships is "Neftçi"'s new anti-record in the Azerbaijani championships. The capital representative lost points at the start in a row once before - in the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons.
It should be noted that "Neftçi" celebrated victory in the first game of 21 out of 34 seasons.
