The 2024/2025 season of the AFFA U-16 League has concluded.
Idman.biz reports that the match for third place and the final match were held at the Bayil Stadium.
"Zira" defeated "Sumgayit" 4:1 in the bronze medal match and finished the competition in third place.
Then, "Qarabag" and "Neftchi" faced each other in the final match. Since the main and extra time of the match ended with a score of 2:2, the winner was determined by a penalty shootout. "Neftchi" (4:2) played more accurately in the penalty shootout and became the champion. "Qarabag" won silver medals.
After the games, "Zira" was awarded a bronze medal, "Qarabag" a silver medal, and "Neftchi" a gold medal and a cup. The winners in individual nominations were also announced. Riad Garadagli, a "Qarabag" player who scored 39 goals during the season, won the award for the most productive football player. "Neftchi"'s goalkeeper, Nuraziz Azizov, was chosen as the best player of the season.
The awards were presented by Vagif Sadigov, chairman of the AFFA Coaches Committee, Agil Nabiyev, head coach of the Azerbaijan national team under 17, and Emin Jafarov, head of the AFFA Competition Organization Department.
