"Neftchi" intends to part ways with its football player Alessio Kurci at the end of the season. According to Sport24.az, head coach Yuri Vernidub has not included the Luxembourgish player in his plans for the next season.
However, there is a serious legal obstacle here. Kurci's contract with the club is valid until the summer of 2028.
He was transferred to "Neftchi" in July 2025, when Samir Abasov coached the team, and a three-year contract was signed between the parties.
In the current season, Kurci has not lived up to expectations in terms of game practice. He has played only 236 minutes in 14 matches in total, which shows that the coaching staff does not trust him enough.
In such a situation, the capital club must either terminate the contract with the football player by mutual agreement or find him a new club. Otherwise, the long-term contract may become an additional financial burden for "Neftchi".
