The results of the season were discussed at meetings held this week with the participation of representatives of the Supervisory Board of "Neftchi", head coach Samir Abasov, Chief Executive Director Cenk Sümer, sports and finance departments.
Idman.biz reports that the chief executive director informed the Supervisory Board about the club's annual activities, and the reports of the head coach, finance director and sports department were heard.
The Supervisory Board expressed serious dissatisfaction with the team's results and assessed the results of the season as unacceptable. At the same time, the existing shortcomings in the selection work were also discussed.
However, the Supervisory Board demonstrated full support for Samir Abasov and instructed other departments of the club to provide all kinds of support for the implementation of the transfer strategy in accordance with the head coach's wishes regarding team building.
Samir Abasov has been tasked with building a strong team worthy of the name of "Neftchi", the country's most established club, which will fight for the highest goals, and taking the first steps in this direction in a short time. The Supervisory Board stated that it will provide all kinds of support to Samir Abasov in this way.
At the same time, the head coach, Chief Executive Director and sports department were instructed to ensure that the team building process does not negatively affect the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects that are currently ongoing and cover a certain part of the club's budget.
