The 2024/2025 season of the AFFA U-16 League has ended. Sport24.az reports that the match for third place and the final match were held at the Bayil Stadium.
Zira finished the competition in third place, winning the bronze medal match against Sumgayit with a score of 4:1.
Then, in the final match, Qarabag and Neftchi faced each other. Since the main and extra time of the match ended with a score of 2:2, the winner was determined by a penalty shootout. Neftchi (4:2), who played more accurately in the penalty shootout, became the champion. Qarabag won silver medals.
After the games, Zira was awarded a bronze medal, Qarabag a silver medal, and Neftchi a gold medal and a cup. Also, the winners in individual nominations were determined. Riad Garadagli, a Qarabag player who scored 39 goals during the season, won the award for the most productive football player. Neftchi's goalkeeper, Nuraziz Azizov, was selected as the best player of the season.
The awards were presented by Vagif Sadigov, Chairman of the AFFA Coaches Committee, Agil Nabiyev, Head Coach of the Azerbaijani national team under 17, and Emin Jafarov, Head of the AFFA Competitions Organization Department.
