"Neftchi" intends to win trophies in the new season. Sport24.az reports that this was stated by Cenk Sümer, the chief executive officer of "Neftchi" Football Club, in his statement to journalists.
The functionary said that they want the new season to be successful:
"We have new transfers. I believe that they will be useful to the team. We intend to have a successful season. We want to win trophies. We have bought players that fit our budget. We have researched and recruited the players that our head coach wanted."
He added that they did not perform as they wanted last season:
"This is football. Anything can happen. Some players disappointed us. Samir Abasov joined the team in the middle of the season. We analyzed all the games. We have improved our scouting team. I hope that we will not experience failure in the new season. "Neftchi" is a family. We saw this at the training camp. We already have a good base."
C.Sümer spoke about the goals:
"We are one of the contenders for the championship. We want to achieve results that will make the "Neftchi" community happy."
It should be noted that the 2025/2026 season in the Misli Premier League will start on August 15. "Neftchi" will host "Shamakhi" on August 16 at 20:00.
