"Neftchi" club is considering Belarusian Viktor Goncharenko as the team's new coach.

The previous head coach of the Baku club was Samir Abasov, who led the team from October 2024. On November 24, 2025, he was dismissed from his post, and Sanan Gurbanov became the interim head coach.
"Neftchi" is currently in seventh place in the standings of the Azerbaijani championship in the 2025/26 season with 16 points in 13 games.
The last place of work for 48-year-old Viktor Goncharenko was "Pari NN"; the Belarusian coach led the Nizhny Novgorod team from October 2024 to June 2025.
Goncharenko has also managed clubs such as BATE (Belarus) and CSKA (Russia).
