On the eve of the Azerbaijan-France match, which will be held tomorrow in Baku as part of the qualifying round of the World Championship, Idman.Biz asked Nazim Suleymanov, one of the most famous figures in Azerbaijani football, to share his thoughts on the upcoming match.
He stated that it is not always possible to face such a high-level opponent - the finalist of the last two world championships:
"Let me say that it is a great honor for Azerbaijan to play against a team like France. I hope that our players will show their maximum strength. The guys should mobilize all their opportunities to at least attract the attention of Europe. Moreover, Kilian Mbappe will not be in the French squad. I think that if Mbappe was there, it would be easier for us. Because in such a game, he would not play at full strength, protecting himself from injury. In his absence, other French forwards who have been in the shadows for a long time have a great opportunity to show themselves."
"As for the real score forecast, no matter how much we want it, considering the difference in level, it is difficult to think about victory or a draw. But in my opinion, there will not be a big score either. I think we will lose with a score of 0:2," Nazim Suleymanov added.
