Nazim Aliyev, the former head coach of the "Shafa" club playing in the I League, said that he is satisfied with the development of his son Elgiz Karamli as a coach and the ambition of the club he coaches.
Idman.Biz reports that in his statement to sportal.az, he said that he is always by his son's side and that the team meets expectations.
Nazim Aliyev, known as the football player who scored the most goals in the history of Azerbaijani championships, has worked in clubs such as "Qarabagh", "Adliyya", "Terek" (now "Akhmat"), "Neftchi", "Rah Ahan" and "Shafa" during his coaching career.
He talked about the situation of the I League club coached by his son Elgiz Karamli. He stated that Elgiz also had prospects as a football player, but had to end his career for certain reasons. However, he started coaching at an early age and made progress in a short time.
According to Nazim Aliyev, Elgiz is currently working in an ambitious club like "Shafa" and is closely following his coaching activities. He believes that Elgiz has his own game plan and scheme and is working on it in this direction.
The experienced specialist added that his son had previously spent time in the "Qarabagh" camp and gained experience with Gurban Gurbanov. In his opinion, it is gratifying that the club management has shown confidence in Elgiz. He emphasized that success can be achieved when the management, coaching staff and team are together, and this can be seen in "Shafa".
Nazim Aliyev hopes that Elgiz will be able to promote the team to the Premier League. However, talking about the uncertainties of football, he said that everything may not go as planned. He said that the main thing is not to give up on the goal and ambition.
He noted that he is familiar with Elgiz's character and that he is fighting to achieve the goal set.
The experienced specialist also commented on the restoration of the activities of the "Shafa" club, where he once worked. He recalled that he also worked as the head coach of this club and said that it was an interesting coincidence that Elgiz was the head coach here. Elgiz also started his football career in "Shafa".
Nazim Aliyev said that "Shafa" used to be a club where famous football players wore uniforms in Azerbaijani football, but it stopped its activities due to financial reasons. He positively assessed the club's restart and being more ambitious.
