Siyasat Asgarov, the head coach of the Azerbaijani women's national team, evaluated the test match against Belarus. Sport24.az reports that the expert made a statement to the AFFA press service about this.
He cited the injury of 5 players as one of the main reasons for the defeat:
"We have positions where we experience difficulty when a player playing there gets injured. Another reason is that the season in the Turkish championship, where many of our players play, ended some time ago. The girls who came from there were limited to individual training during this period. The Belarusian national team is a high-quality team, with most of their players playing in the Russian top league. The championship continues in both Russia and Belarus. These points could not but affect the game and the result."
Asgarov was satisfied with the condition of the newly recruited players:
"We invited new young players to the national team to replace the injured ones. Some of them were playing in the national team for the first time. There were those who showed themselves in a good way. We can acquire them for the team in the future."
The head coach also shared his impressions about the second friendly match with the Belarusian national team, which will be held in Minsk on July 1:
"By analyzing the first match, we will work on our mistakes. It will be important not to repeat them in the second match against Belarus. We will fight for a better result in the second game."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team is currently holding a training camp in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. The team lost the first friendly match with the local national team with a score of 0:3 during the preparation period. The parties will meet again on July 1.
