We had previously reported on the transfer of "Qarabagh" club striker Nariman Akhundzade to the US representative "Columbus Crew".
Idman.Biz reports that, according to US media, the 21-year-old forward has been recruited under the U22 initiative and will be included in the team's application after the international transfer certificate and work visa are formalized. The contract will be valid until June 2029.
The club's general manager, Issa Tall, stated that the player's technical qualities and business acumen are in line with the team's playing style. He emphasized that Nariman Akhundzade will play in the reserve team for a while by the decision of the coaching staff. The reserve team of "Columbus Crew" will play its first match against "New York Red Bulls" on March 2.
Akhundzade played 13 matches and scored 3 goals in the Azerbaijan Premier League in the 2025/26 season. He is the third most expensive transfer that "Columbus Crew" has made this year.
