"Napoli" president Aurelio De Laurentiis has called for changes to the rules of the game and the format of European leagues.
İdman.Biz reports that De Laurentiis has voiced the long-standing problems of football.
"Football club managers do not want to change because they are afraid of losing their positions where they sit very comfortably. But the time has come to change both the rules of the game and the league formats. There are too many games and I don't think players can play 50, 60 or 70 games in a season anymore," the "Napoli" president said in a statement to "Football Italia".
He added that an age limit should be set for national team players:
"Players over the age of 23 should no longer play in the national team, new talents should be discovered. In this way, we can protect older players from getting injured while playing in national teams."
