"We achieved a very beautiful and magnificent victory." Sport24.az reports that these words were said by "Qarabag" footballer Musa Gurbanli in his statement to journalists.
The striker shared his thoughts on the first leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, in which they defeated the North Macedonian representative "Shkendija" (5:1) in Baku:
"We showed beautiful football to our fans. Fans are happier when there is a high-scoring victory. We are also happy. We have advanced to the play-off stage. We also have a chance to qualify for the main round. We will try to prepare very well. We intend to qualify for the main stage by showing our best games."
Gurbanli said that the opponent in the play-off does not matter to them: "We will look at our own work. We will prepare seriously for whichever team we face. We will do our best to win."
The forward also commented on their big win: "When we conceded an early goal, we thought it was good for us. Because we shook ourselves a bit. We have had many such cases. After seeing a goal in our net early, we start playing better. But in any case, we came to the field to win."
The player added that the opponent in the play-off also wants to win: "Because they lost to us before. But this should not distract us. We have to look at our own work."
