The 20-year-old midfielder, who has recently attracted attention with his performance, thanked head coach Yuri Vernidub.
"Thank you for trusting me. "Neftchi" is a big club. Here we have to perform better from game to game," he said in a statement to teleqraf.az.
M.Mammadov also spoke about their 1-0 victory over Gabala in the 19th round of the Azerbaijan Premier League:
"I think we had a good game. In the second half, we closed down more on defense. We had more episodes and we could have valued them. However, we won an important 3 points. This victory was a good motivation for the next game. I believe that we will perform well in future games as well. Even if we don't start the championship well, we try and fight. Even though we lost in the Cup, we are trying to strengthen our position in the Premier League. I believe that we can rise to the "top 3" by winning every game."
