In the XII round of the Misli Premier League, "Neftchi" lost to "Imishli" with a score of 2:3 at home.
Idman.Biz reports that at the press conference held after the game, "Neftchi" coach Mubariz Orujov assessed the team's performance and the problems that arose. He admitted that the results were not satisfactory.
The specialist stated that the conceded goals stemmed from standard situations:
"Although the team knows that the opponent is dangerous in throw-ins, they make mistakes in those very episodes. I agree, our results are not encouraging. In terms of the game, we are better compared to last year, but this does not affect the result. The team has not yet fully formed, the adaptation process is still ongoing."
Commenting on the fact that "Neftchi" is now lower in the tournament table than even "Imishli", Orujov emphasized that they will take a special approach to the cup:
"Things are not going well in the league. The cup is a shortcut and we will focus on it as well. "Neftchi"'s goal is always the championship. At the very least, we want to qualify for the European Cups and we believe in it."
