Idman.biz reports that MP Hikmat Babaoglu, in his statement to Sportnet.az, commented on the 3:2 victory of "Karabakh" over "Benfica" in Portugal in the first round of the UEFA Champions League League stage.
According to him, with this victory, "Karabakh" as a football club proved that it can also win in Azerbaijani team sports, and that no opponent is unattainable or invincible for this team: "This, along with increasing interest in football among Azerbaijani youth, also cultivates collective self-confidence, especially in mass games. I think this is one of the new pages in our sports history."
Babaoglu also spoke about the congratulatory message of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to "Karabakh" on the occasion of the victory: "The President's congratulation is an indicator of how much sports is loved in the country, is in the public spotlight and is surrounded by state care.
