The new head coach of the Portuguese club Benfica, Jose Mourinho, commented on the 3:2 defeat to Qarabag in Lisbon in the first round of the Champions League. Sport24.az reports that the experienced coach said the following about the defeat to the Azerbaijani champion:
"We always want to win. But we can't lose like we lost to Qarabag two days ago. This was not Benfica. Benfica is a team that played with one player less for 30 minutes in the match against Fenerbahce and eventually achieved a positive result. This is the Benfica I've seen since I've known myself."
It should be noted that after the match with Qarabag, Benfica's former head coach Bruno Lage was dismissed. Jose Mourinho replaced him in this position.
