Benfica's head coach, Jose Mourinho, has commented on the draw for the Champions League play-off stage. According to Sport24.az, Mourinho's team will face Real Madrid in this stage.
The Portuguese specialist said in a statement to Marca: "We only had two options: either Real or Inter. The choice was not great. We got the king. A few days ago, after the game, when a Real player offered me his jersey, I jokingly showed Benfica's players the emblem that the Madrid players wear on their sleeves. They have 15 cups in the Champions League. They are kings.
This is not just history. We will undoubtedly play against the main favorite of the tournament. But before that, we have three more games ahead of us and we must focus on them,"
It should be reminded that Benfica secured a place in the play-offs by defeating Real 4:2 in the 8th round of the Champions League League stage. Real, after this defeat, lost the chance to advance to the 1/8 finals and took 9th place.
