The Romanian Football Federation has officially confirmed that the national team's head coach, Mircea Lucescu, will personally lead the team in the 2026 World Cup play-off matches to be held in March.
Idman.Biz reports that this decision was made after medical examinations conducted in a clinic in Brussels.
The results of the examinations showed that the experienced specialist's health condition allows him to fully perform the duties of a coach.
After consultations with the management, Lucescu stated that he is ready to work with the team in the upcoming important stage.
It should be noted that in March, the Romanian national team will face Turkey in the play-off stage. If they win, the team will face the winner of the Slovakia - Kosovo pair. Both games will be played away.
