The 4th traditional minifootball tournament among amateur teams will be held in memory of the martyred journalists of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the National Press, as well as the Restoration of Independence Day (October 18) and Victory Day (November 8).
Idman.biz reports that information about the tournament was provided, rules were announced, and a draw was held at the event held in this regard.
It was stated that the aim of the tournament is to commemorate the memory of the brave fighters who sacrificed their lives in the First and Second Karabakh wars, to perpetuate the heroic examples of the participants of the 44-day Patriotic War, and to contribute to the healthy and patriotic upbringing of the new generation in addition to their professions, with the martyred journalists Maharram Ibrahimov and Siraj Abishov, the media representatives who were victims of Armenian terror - Chingiz Mustafayev, Kazimagha Kerimov, Osman Mirzayev, Ali Mustafayev, Fakhraddin Shahbazov, Arif Huseynzade and Salatyn Asgarova.
This year, 12 teams will compete in the tournament under the names AzTV, Baku TV, Real TV, "Cəmiyyət", AZƏRTAC, APA, Yurd Media, Baku.WS, "Vətən", "Veteranlar", "Zəfər 44", "Dəmir Yumruq". The media is represented by 8 teams.
The tournament, which will start on September 27, consists of 4 groups with 3 teams in each and will end on November 1. As a result of the round-robin competition, the teams that take 1st and 2nd place in the group according to points and goal difference will advance to the 1/4 finals. 4 of the 8 teams participating in these games will advance to the semi-finals.
According to the agreed rules of the tournament, the matches consist of two halves of 25 minutes each. If the winner is not determined in the main time during the semi-final and final games, there will be a penalty shootout. The games to be held at the Baku Tennis Academy stadium will be managed by AFFA referees.
The groups and games were determined at the draw held with the participation of the members of the Organizing Committee and representatives of the teams as follows:
Group A – Real TV, Baku.WS, APA
Group B – Baku TV, AzTV, AZƏRTAC
Group C – "Dəmir Yumruq", "Zəfər 44", Yurd Media
Group D - "Cəmiyyət", "Veteranlar", "Vətən"
The first game between Real TV and Baku.WS will be held on September 27 at 19:00 at the Baku Tennis Academy stadium after the official opening ceremony.
It should be noted that the tournament will be organized by the "Ardanış" Football School and Rakus.az, with the support of the Baku Tennis Academy, the information support of Azerbaijan State Television (AzTV), Baku TV, Real TV, AZƏRTAC, APA, Yurd Media agencies and the BAKU.WS portal.
