"Millwall", competing in the English Championship, has leased "The New Den" stadium for a term of 999 years. Sport24.az reports that this agreement with "Lewisham Council" keeps the club at the historic arena and includes adjacent areas.
Plans include modernizing the infrastructure and expanding the stadium's use beyond match days.
Negotiations lasted more than a decade, with the final stage taking approximately 18 months. The club's chairman, James Berylson, called the signing of the agreement "a key moment for Millwall's future."
Currently, the club is in 4th place in the Championship with 68 points.
