The president of the Italian Serie A, Esio Maria Simonelli, has confirmed that the "Milan" - "Como" match, which will be held as part of the 24th round of the national championship, will take place in Australia. Sport24.az reports that he made a statement about this to Sport Mediaset:
"The Milan-Como match will be held in Perth on February 8, as previously planned. I met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Doha, and as always, we had a very sincere conversation. We had some concerns about some of the conditions put forward, such as the requirement that the match be assigned to referees from the Asian Federation...
However, Pierluigi Collina, Chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee, reassured us about the quality of Asian referees and named several professionals who could handle the match. Accepting this idea was the hardest. But thanks to Collina's arguments, we agreed on everything."
It should be noted that after the past 15 rounds, "Milan" is second with 32 points, and "Como" is seventh with 24 points.
