Arsenal and Spain midfielder Mikel Merino has undergone serious foot surgery.
Idman.Biz reports that the midfielder suffered the injury in the 23rd round of the English Premier League against Manchester United (2:3).
"Operation over! Almost ready to come back. Thank you all so much for your messages and love. It really gives me extra energy to face this challenge," Merino wrote in a social media post.
This season, the 29-year-old Spaniard has made 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing three assists. In 2024, Merino won the European Championship in Germany with the Spanish national team.
