Metehan Baltacı, a football player of the Turkish club "Galatasaray", has been released. Sport24.az reports with reference to "A Spor" that the final decision regarding the young defender was made today, March 25, 2026, at the court hearing.
The football player, who had been in custody for more than three months, was released after the first court hearing.
According to the source, the 23-year-old football player did not admit the charges against him in court. He stated that he did not participate in any match-fixing agreement and did not receive any financial gain from this process.
It should be noted that Metehan Baltacı was arrested in December 2025 as part of an investigation launched into allegations of illegal betting and match-fixing in football.
