Messi sets a new record in MLS: Named Player of the Month!

Inter Miami's Argentine forward Lionel Messi has been named MLS Player of the Month for October. The club's press service reports this, according to Sport24.az. 

 

Messi has been named MLS Player of the Month five times in his career, a new league record (five awards in two seasons). 

 

Messi is also only the third player in MLS history, after Carlos Vela (2019) and Chris Wondolowski (2012), to win the MLS Player of the Month award three times in one season. 

 

It should be noted that the Argentine star stood out in October with 5 goals and 5 assists in 3 matches.
