Messi called up to the national team

Inter Miami footballer Lionel Messi has been called up to the Argentina national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Chile and Colombia. According to Sport24.az, the press service of the Argentine Football Association reported this.

 

The 37-year-old veteran missed the previous two qualifying matches against Uruguay and Brazil due to a muscle injury.

 

Messi is expected to participate not only in the national team's games, but also in the Club World Cup games.
