The 33-year-old player contacted club officials and stated that he wants to stand by the army leadership and military command, take up arms, and defend Iran.
Taremi, who has recently shown a remarkable performance in the Greek Super League with "Olympiacos", has made a decision that has created a great stir in the football world. According to news in the Iranian press, Iranian Football Federation officials made great efforts to persuade the star player to stay in Greece and continue his career, but Taremi remained determined in his decision.
It is reported that the 33-year-old football player insisted on joining the army and told his relatives, "This is when my country needs me most. My people and my country are in danger, and I must be there."
