France national team's head coach Didier Deschamps has announced that forward Kylian Mbappe has re-injured his ankle.
Idman.Biz reports that the incident occurred in the match against Azerbaijan (3:0) in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.
The "Real Madrid" player was substituted in the 83rd minute.
"This is the leg he injured before. The pain decreases as he rests. Contact with opponents is inevitable during the match. We will assess the situation. Mbappe is experiencing discomfort, which is not good," Deschamps said.
It should be noted that it was previously reported that Mbappe did not train with the French national team before the match against Azerbaijan due to a recurrence of his ankle contusion.
